Challenge
There's tension we're not dealing with.We only say things once they've gotten big.
Small things go unsaid until they are not small anymore, and by then it costs us people.
Signs this is you
- The team is not comfortable giving or receiving feedback, so the pattern continues until someone has had enough and dysregulation takes the lead
- There is a lot of back channeling, and nothing changes when the group is together
- Hard conversations get postponed and then never happen
- Concern goes unsaid, and so does appreciation, and then morale drops and good people leave
- The same disagreement resurfaces in a different form each month
How we help
We build the habit of saying things while they are still small, and the systems that give feedback somewhere to go. Feedback in real time, having difficult conversations as conflict prevention, naming chronic conflict, everyday habits for healthy organizations, and accountability protocols, so people can name a need in a way that disarms defensiveness rather than setting it off. When something has already grown past that, mediation, restorative circle processes, and conflict navigation system design.
What to expect
Live practice rather than case studies. We work with the real conversations your team has been avoiding, and build the language and the technique in the room. Receiving is harder than giving and rarely gets trained, so we spend real time there.
In practice
I appreciate the facilitator's experience and intuitiveness in addressing conflict in movement spaces. Their clear, methodical way of teaching nonviolent communication, and reflecting on conflict through a systems lens, helped our group build the language and practice for transforming conflict into generative experiences.
